Meet the Sheep

April 3, 2016

Every year Robin and her friends let a bunch of people come to our farm to pet the lambs. Yesterday it was the same as last year and the year before that. It is a lot of work and that is one job that Robin won’t let Ginny take over. She is not ready for it.IMG_0444The Bunny Lady brings baby goats…IMG_0470…and baby bunnies that people can pet.IMG_0448It takes all my energy to make sure they stay where they are supposed to.IMG_0447I spent most of the day keeping them in their places.IMG_0475Robin also put some sheep in pens in the middle of the barn.IMG_0482Amaryllis went out to her pen. The pet sheep named Jade was in a pen where should could be petted because she likes people, but she kept jumping over the panels. Robin put her in with the donkey where she spent part of the day pouting in the far corner.IMG_0455Like I said before, Robin says that Ginny isn’t ready for the job of watching the Bunny Lady’s animals. Ginny was on a leash in the shop most of the day. She tried her best to get attention from people. She thought that lying on someone’s fleece that might help.IMG_0459Maybe adding the Toy will help.IMG_0460Ginny escaped a couple of times. “Doesn’t this spinner notice my toy?”IMG_0461Yes, Ginny. She is ignoring you.IMG_0471I, however, stayed on the job. Well, there was once when I walked back to the shop and took a nap in the corner. But most of the time I was right there.IMG_0477This is the Bunny Lady.IMG_0483This was the end of the day after most people had gone home.

Thank you so much for all the volunteers that helped make this such a wonderful event! I came for the sheering and then couldn’t wait to come yesterday! I brought a friend and we loved the demos and holding all the animals. This will be an annual event! Thanks so much!
